Toronto
The three girlz in the ChoirGirlz, Debbie Fleming, Dorothy McDonall, and Mary Ellen Moore, met while they were members of The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and after they became good friends, they discovered that they also had a magic blend when they sang together -- kinda like Dixie Chicks meet The Andrews Sisters, with a bit of Royal Canadian Air Farce for spicy humour. Debbie began learning guitar while they worked on repertoire, (60% original), and before long -- they had recorded a CD entitled "Angel Wings" and were invited to showcase their newly released recording in Nashville. Since then, they have received wonderful CBC Radio support, and they leave their audiences smiling -- even chuckling -- whenever they perform. They are regular performers in Toronto at Free Times Cafe, in Hamilton at Staircase Cafe, and in Ottawa at Rasputins, and have accumulated a very enthusiastic fan base. Their song for CBC won them a spot at the New Foundation Tuesday night in March 2004. They are writing new material, and will be recording their second CD in 2005.
